This lot comprises a collection of several antiquarian volumes, portfolios, and fragments of various formats and subjects. Key items include a folio work titled La Cathedrale de Chartres: Vues Exterieures, published by Editions TEL, featuring large-format photographic plates of architectural sculpture. Also present is a grey paper portfolio for the Monumental Brass Society, Volume VI, Part II. The collection includes a volume titled Ruins and Antient Buildings, in England and Wales, &c., containing descriptive text and engraved plates of locations such as Eton College and the Valley of Stones, Devonshire. A small octavo volume bound in full leather with gilt-tooled edges contains handwritten manuscript notes listing towers and guards, such as General Tower and Bagshill Guard, alongside a fold-out engraved plan of New Hall Orchard and a series of engraved portraits of English monarchs, including a plate of King John after Wale and Noble. Additionally, the collection contains a printed fragment of a General Description of the County of Gloucester, which has a mid-20th-century political flyer for an Independent Candidate attached to the front. Bindings vary between full leather, marbled boards, and paper wrappers.
