Another Great Auction
This 27-piece fine bone china coffee service was manufactured by Wedgwood and commissioned for the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. Each piece is decorated with a white ground, a single dark green line at the rim, and a gilt crowned portcullis emblem. The green colour-coding traditionally identifies items belonging to the House of Commons within the Palace of Westminster. The service consists of one tall, slender coffee pot with a matching lid, one cream jug, one open sugar bowl, twelve demitasse coffee cups, and twelve matching saucers. The underside of each piece bears a black printed factory mark featuring the Portland Vase symbol, the name WEDGWOOD with a registered trademark symbol, Bone China, and MADE IN ENGLAND.
