Another Great Auction
This lot comprises a mixed collection of decorative porcelain and ceramic items, including character figurines and floral studies. The collection features a large glazed porcelain figure of a French soldier wearing a green tunic, yellow facings, and white breeches, with the base inscribed Soldat d’Infanterie. Also included is a figurine of a Scottish Highlander in traditional kilt and green jacket on a naturalistic base, and two smaller figurines of young girls in provincial attire. Decorative objects within the lot include a large hand-modelled porcelain rose in pale pink and yellow tones, a pair of porcelain spill vases in the shape of boots with applied floral sprigs and gilded rims, a ceramic egg decorated with transfer-printed roses on a stand, and a small porcelain floral cluster. The pieces are primarily finished with a vitreous glaze and are characteristic of mid-20th-century European manufacture. No manufacturer marks are clearly visible on the exterior of the pieces.
