Another Great Auction
Two artworks comprising an oil on canvas and a limited edition print. The first work is an oil on canvas landscape depicting a horse-drawn ploughing team in a coastal field with a windmill in the distance under a cloud-filled sky. It is signed and dated Ernest George ’26 in the lower right corner and is housed in a moulded giltwood frame. The second work is a limited edition colour print on paper titled BEST MATE, featuring a portrait of the famous racehorse in a bridle. The print is numbered 93/500 in pencil and is inscribed with the pencil signatures of the artist Barrie Linklater and the trainer Henrietta Knight on the mount. The image also bears a printed signature and date B.R. LINKLATER 2004. It is presented in a dark wood frame with a gilt inner slip and a white mat.
