Another Great Auction
This collection of hand-carved wooden figurines depicts a traditional nativity scene, produced in the Philippines. Several pieces retain gold foil labels identifying the maker as the Cottage Industry Foundation under the Mission brand. The collection includes representations of the Holy Family featuring Mary, Joseph, and the infant Jesus in a manger, alongside three Magi with stylised crowns and robes. Animals include a donkey with a colourful woven textile collar and a recumbent ox. A small wooden cross is also present. The figures are crafted from a medium-toned wood with a natural finish in a folk-art style, characterised by simplified, blocky forms and incised geometric patterns on the garments.
