An assortment of approximately ten monochrome photographic prints and mounted images dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The collection focuses on industrial and transport infrastructure within the North West of England. Subject matter includes a photograph of a tramcar from the Blackpool and Fleetwood Electric Tramroad featuring crew and passengers. Railway-themed images depict wooden station buildings, tracks through rural landscapes with signal boxes, and groups of trackside workmen. Industrial views show the interiors of an early 20th-century powerhouse with large steam-driven generators and an overhead gantry crane bearing the inscription 20 TON ELECTRICAL. A significant large-format mounted photograph shows a stage set for a production of Oliver Twist. This mount includes handwritten ink annotations: Oliver Twist – Alan Chandler – Sykes – ? Harrison – Nancy – Fagin (self!) – Paul White – Oliver. The lower right corner of this mount is stamped with the photographer mark: Carl Cloud, Bolton and Manchester. The collection provides a historical record of the Bolton, Manchester, Blackpool, and Fleetwood areas.
