A set of four mixed media artworks depicting various multi-masted sailing vessels in profile. Each ship is rendered using layered, textured materials to produce a three-dimensional effect, with fine drawn detailing for the rigging and sails set against a mottled brown background. The vessels are shown flying different national ensigns, including a British Red Ensign and a United States flag. Each piece is housed in a matching dark-stained wooden frame with a broad, textured cream-coloured mount and a gilt inner slip. These works are in the style of mid-20th-century decorative maritime art, often associated with makers such as Kapha Industries or G. Bishop. One frame bears a white adhesive label with the digits 4854.
