An ebonised display pedestal or plinth, in the style of late 19th-century Aesthetic Movement designs. The piece features a square top platform supported by a tapered and fluted column stem. The column is accented with a prominent torus moulding and smaller ring details at the neck, resting upon a circular stepped and moulded base. The entire object is finished in a uniform high-gloss black lacquer. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible.
