An Italian religious devotional print, likely an engraving or fine-line lithograph, depicting Maria SS. di Montevergine (The Black Madonna of Montevergine). The composition portrays the Virgin Mary and the Christ Child in the style of the original 13th-century icon, both adorned with elaborate crowns and collars, surrounded by a host of attendant angels within a highly decorative architectural border. The print is inscribed at the lower right margin with the title MARIA SS. DI MONTEVERGINE followed by the prayer PREGATE GESÙ PER NOI (Pray to Jesus for us). Additional small-scale text is present to the right of the title, likely indicating the printer or publisher, but the characters are not clearly legible. The work is presented in a modern black polished frame.
