A hand-painted commemorative porcelain figurine titled The Faithful Erk, produced by Ashmor of Worcester, England, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain (1940-1990). The figure depicts a member of the Royal Air Force ground crew in a dynamic pose, wearing a dark uniform beneath a brown leather-style jerkin. He is shown carrying a bulky parachute pack secured with detailed white webbing straps. The figure is mounted on a base modelled as rocky ground with a tuft of moss or grass. The underside of the base contains extensive printed information, including the RAF crest and motto Per Ardua ad Astra, a commemorative dedication, and a transcribed excerpt from Winston Churchill’s Finest Hour speech dated 18th June 1940. It is marked as Model No. 265 and was produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces exclusively for History in Porcelain. The base also features the handwritten initials PG in green.
