Bronze sculpture depicting a gentleman in 17th-century attire, widely identified as the artist Rembrandt van Rijn. The figure is portrayed in a contemplative pose, leaning his left arm against a classical octagonal pedestal which supports a large open book. The subject is rendered with significant detail, featuring a wide-brimmed hat, long curly hair, a textured doublet, and buckled shoes. The sculpture is cast in bronze with a dark brown patina and stands on an integral rectangular base. The word BRONZE is stamped in block capitals on the top surface of the base near the figure’s left foot. No other signatures or foundry marks are visible.
