A George V sterling silver presentation bowl of circular form featuring a spreading pedestal base and a plain polished interior. The exterior is hand-engraved with a commemorative six-line inscription. Hallmarks located on the side of the bowl include the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, the lowercase date letter v for 1920, and the maker mark L B over and S for Lawrence Bros and Sons. The presentation inscription reads: R. H. WILLIS ESQ. / as a token of regard / FROM / THE LANCS. CHES. and N. STAFFS. BRANCH / OF THE A.M.E.E. / JULY 1920. The acronym A.M.E.E. corresponds to the Association of Mining Electrical Engineers.
