The figure is mounted on a circular, stepped, and domed pedestal base which features a horizontal slot on one side, possibly indicating its original use as a car mascot or similar mount. The piece bears a vertical row of struck hallmarks to the neck of the base, including the maker mark T & S for Turner & Simpson, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the lion passant for sterling silver, and the date letter r for 1916.
