Another Great Auction
An Art Deco sterling silver trinket box by George William Lewis and Co, hallmarked for Birmingham 1933. The box features a rectangular form with canted corners and is raised on four scrolling bracket feet. The hinged lid is decorated with fine engine-turned guilloché patterns and stylized stepped linear motifs at each corner. The interior is lined with purple velvet, and the underside is fitted with a wooden base. Hallmarks located on the rim of the body and lid consist of the maker mark GWL and Co in a rectangular cartouche, a lion passant, an anchor symbol, and the date letter H.
