A pair of Arts and Crafts movement fire dogs, or andirons, constructed from wrought iron with decorative copper finials. The copper finials are of stylized heart or spade form, featuring a hammered texture and secured to the tapering iron stems by three prominent rivets. Each fire dog is supported by a tripod base with scrolled feet. The iron components are finished in a black lacquer or paint. A small white rectangular adhesive label with the printed characters 4742 is located on the base of each item. No permanent maker’s marks or stamps are present on the metalwork.
