Another Great Auction
A mid-20th-century sports award consisting of a heavy circular chrome-plated metal base supporting an upright decorative emblem. The emblem features a central Maltese cross motif with red-enamelled detail, enclosed within a circular ring and an outer border designed to resemble a series of chain links. The top surface of the base features an engraved inscription following the curve of the rim.
Literal transcription of inscription: CIRCLE 82 GOLF TOURNAMENT 1968.
The designation Circle followed by a number is characteristic of British Catholic fraternal organisations such as the Catenian Association. The central cross motif is consistent with this affiliation. The item includes a small white adhesive label with the handwritten number 1008 on the base.
