A porcelain collector plate from The Official Beano Plate Collection featuring the character Lord Snooty. This item was produced exclusively for Danbury Mint under license from D.C. Thomson and Co. Ltd. in 2001. The plate is decorated with transfer-printed comic strip illustrations. The central design depicts Lord Snooty and his gang with a wheelbarrow filled with banknotes, surrounded by a border composed of various panels from Lord Snooty and his Pals comic strips. The piece is finished with a gilt rim. The reverse features a comprehensive black printed backstamp stating Licensed to the Manufacturer by D.C. Thomson and Co. Ltd., THE BEANO Official BEANO Product PLATE COLLECTION, 2001, Lord Snooty, A fine porcelain collector plate exclusive to Danbury Mint, and A work of art not intended for food use. The lot includes the original Certificate of Authenticity from the Danbury Mint, bearing the serial number 0089, and is housed in its original protective polystyrene packaging.
