This lot comprises two modern nautical-style telescopes, each housed in an individual wooden presentation case. The larger instrument is a single-draw handheld telescope of brass construction with a black leather-wrapped barrel. The objective lens end features a sliding brass cover. It is housed in a polished hardwood box with a green felt-lined interior. The lid of the case features a decorative brass inlay in the shape of a maritime anchor and is secured with a brass hook latch. The smaller instrument is a miniature pocket telescope of brass construction with a brown leather-wrapped barrel. It is contained in a matching hardwood box featuring a brass inlay depicting an elephant on the lid. These items are characteristic of contemporary maritime-themed giftware.
