Another Great Auction
A collection of ten pieces of vintage traditional rock climbing protection, including various sizes of hexagonal chocks and wedge-shaped nuts. The designs are attributed to Chouinard Equipment, featuring the distinctive geometric forms of early Hexcentrics and stoppers. Each head is manufactured from aluminium alloy and is threaded with multi-coloured synthetic accessory cord loops. The cords are secured with various knots, including double fisherman’s knots and overhand loops. Stamped size markings and manufacturer symbols are present on the lateral faces of the metal components, though they show significant wear from past use. The set includes a range of sizes suitable for protecting different fissure widths in a rock face.
