Another Great Auction
This collection of original intaglio etchings is presented within an original paper portfolio folder. The folder is titled ORIGINAL ETCHINGS: LANDSCAPES AND VIEWS OF ITALIAN TOWNS and bears the publication details for Edito: Cooperativa Italiana Artisti, based at Piazza De Ferrari 4, Genova. The individual prints are executed on cream-toned paper and exhibit clear plate marks from the printing process. The subject matter includes religious and genre scenes. One etching depicts a village procession featuring large, ornate crucifixes, titled Procession in pencil and signed A. De Luca in the lower-right margin. Another plate shows a Madonna and Child surrounded by infants, titled Madonna in pencil and signed Morandini in the lower-right margin. The prints demonstrate characteristic acid-bitten lines and varied hatching typical of the etching technique.
