Another Great Auction
An Art Deco silver-plated three-piece “cobbler” cocktail shaker manufactured by the British silversmiths Mappin & Webb. The piece is constructed with a tapering cylindrical body, a stepped, tiered shoulder containing an integral strainer, and a domed cap that functions as a jigger. The design features characteristic architectural lines of the period with fine engine-turned knurled bands applied to the rims for decoration and grip. The base is clearly stamped with the maker’s marks: TRIPLE DEPOSIT within a triangle, an M monogram logo, MAPPIN & WEBB’S, PRINCE’S PLATE, and LONDON & SHEFFIELD. A small shield mark containing the letter S is also present.
Height: 20.5 cm.
