Another Great Auction
A collection of hand-painted glazed ceramic figurines manufactured by Beswick, England, depicting characters from the literary works of Beatrix Potter. The assortment includes several distinct models such as Jemima Puddle-Duck wearing a blue bonnet and paisley shawl, Miss Moppet the cat in a blue dress, a mouse seated within a pink-lined wicker cradle, and Goody Tiptoes the squirrel carrying a basket of yellow berries. Also included are models featuring Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny, as well as a figurine titled The Old Woman who lived in a Shoe depicting multiple mice within a large blue boot. Each figurine is constructed from earthenware with a polychrome glazed finish. The undersides of the bases feature the Beswick England brown backstamp, character titles, and copyright attributions to F. Warne & Co. Ltd. Visible copyright dates include 1959, 1961, and 1975. Various hand-painted markings including numerals such as 2 and 43, and letters such as SS and f, are also present on the bases.
