Another Great Auction
A 2024 United Kingdom commemorative fifty pence coin issued by The Royal Mint in collaboration with the Imperial War Museums. This coin was struck to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings on 6 June 1944. The reverse, designed by David Lawrence, depicts Allied soldiers disembarking from a landing craft onto a beach, with inscriptions reading D-DAY and 6 JUNE 1944. The obverse features the official coinage portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings. The coin is presented in its original illustrated collector’s folder, which contains historical information and technical specifications. The item remains in its original mint-sealed cellophane packaging.
