Another Great Auction
A collection of commemorative medals and a gold coin issued by The London Mint Office for the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, presented in two black and white folders titled Their Finest Hour. The group includes several silver-coloured proof medals featuring portraits of Sir Winston Churchill, Sir Hugh Dowding, Lord Beaverbrook, Watson Watt, and Sir Douglas Bader, as well as a medal with an enamelled Royal Air Force roundel. The central piece is a gold commemorative coin depicting a Supermarine Spitfire on the obverse and the Royal Air Force crest over a frosted 75 on the reverse. The gold coin is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity confirming it was struck to a proof finish in a limited edition of 4,999.
