Another Great Auction
This commemorative set, titled Nine Decades Gloriously Accomplished, was issued in 2016 to celebrate the 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The collection is housed in a blue pictorial presentation folder produced by The London Mint Office, featuring a montage of portraits of the Queen throughout her life. The set contains several coins issued under the authority of Gibraltar, including five One Crown coins, one Double Crown coin, and one Half Crown coin. The coins feature various numismatic effigies used during the Queen’s reign, specifically the Mary Gillick first portrait, Arnold Machin second portrait, Raphael Maklouf third portrait, and Ian Rank-Broadley fourth portrait. Also included is a 90th birthday effigy by Raphael Maklouf. A Certificate of Authenticity is present for the Half Crown coin, which specifies the alloy as copper-nickel layered in pure gold with a brilliant uncirculated finish. The folder includes historical text regarding each portrait and the Queen’s reign.
