Another Great Auction
A philatelic and numismatic cover (PNC) issued by Royal Mail to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The item features an assortment of eight commemorative stamps from the VE Day issue, including denominations of 2nd class, 1st class, and £1.63 (SG 4272-4279). The stamps are cancelled with a special pictorial London circular date stamp (CDS) dated 8 May 2020. Inset into the card is an encapsulated United Kingdom silver proof £2 coin. The coin’s reverse design features the word VICTORY above celebratory figures, flanked by the dates 1945-2020. This limited edition cover is individually numbered 567 and carries the printed Royal Mail Tallents House address in Edinburgh. The stamps are well-centred and the cancellations are precisely applied.
