A group of numismatic items comprising a 1989 United Kingdom two-pound commemorative coin set and a City of York souvenir medal. The coin set is presented in the original illustrated folder and contains two nickel-brass two-pound coins issued to mark the tercentenary of the Bill of Rights and the Claim of Right. The obverse of each coin features the Raphael Maklouf portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse designs by John Lobban incorporate royal sceptres and a crown with the cypher of William and Mary. The City of York souvenir medal is struck in a gold-toned base metal and depicts a view of ‘The Shambles’ on the obverse. It is mounted on a printed card displaying the city coat of arms and an architectural drawing of a historic gatehouse.
