A pair of Shell promotional commemorative medal collections produced in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The Man in Flight set comprises a group of struck base metal medals depicting aviation and aerospace achievements, including the 1903 Wright brothers flight, the 1957 Sputnik I mission, and the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing. The Historic Cars set includes a group of struck base metal medals illustrating significant motor vehicles such as the 1886 Benz 3-Wheeler and the 1938 Volkswagen. The car folder displays a central illustration of a green 1928 Bentley 4 1/2-litre with registration YW 3775 and a 4398 cc petrol engine. Both collections are housed in their original themed cardboard display folders with printed historical details for each medal location.
