A bound collection of the confidential publication The Police Gazette, produced by the Metropolitan Police Criminal Record Office for internal police use only. This volume contains the Alphabetical Index to Supplement B (Volume II), covering the period from 1st January to 31st December 1915, alongside various weekly supplements including issue No. 16 dated 16th April 1915 and further entries dated through May 1916. The contents provide detailed criminal records, listing names, aliases, birth years, physical characteristics such as eye colour, tattoos, and scars, as well as specific criminal histories and case numbers. A significant feature of the volume is the inclusion of numerous black and white mugshot photographs presented in both front and profile views within the Licence Holders and Supervisees sections. The volume also contains a section for Persons Licensed from a Borstal Institution. The pages are heavily annotated with contemporary handwritten notes, ticks, and crosses in red and black ink, reflecting its use as a reference document. The work was printed for His Majesty’s Stationery Office by J. J. Keliher and Co., Ltd., London.
