A mid-20th-century Staffordshire earthenware teapot by Sadler, part of the Sporting Scenes of the 18th Century series. The piece is of a small barrel-shaped form featuring a scrolled handle and spout. The body displays a central transfer-printed polychrome scene titled Hunting, showing two figures on horseback in a rural landscape. This central vignette is framed by gilded borders composed of repeating teardrop motifs. The domed lid is decorated with a pale pink glaze, radial gilded stripes, and a gold-tone ring finial. The base carries a printed backstamp with a crown over a banner reading SADLER, the series title in script, the pattern name HUNTING in block capitals, and the registration number REG. DESIGN 2005894. Further marks include STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND, a hand-painted gilt reference Y 516 A, and a small black mark 1.
