A pair of circular decorative collector plates from the series Egypt: Splendours of an Ancient World, manufactured by Osiris Porcelain. Each plate is constructed from fine porcelain with a matte black finish and a gilded rim, featuring a central three-dimensional high-relief bust of Egyptian royalty.
The first plate, titled The Golden Mask of Tutankhamun, is the first issue in the series, dated 1992. It features a bust of the Pharaoh with a gilded face and a blue and gold striped nemes headdress. The second plate, titled Nefertiti – The Eternal Beauty, is the second issue, dated 1993. It depicts the Queen with a gilded face and a tall blue headdress with colourful banded details. Both busts are adorned with hand-painted polychrome collars in red, green, and blue enamels.
The reverse of each plate features a comprehensive backstamp in gold and black text. This includes the series and plate titles, the Osiris Porcelain hallmark, and Bradex identification numbers 15-075-4.1 and 15-075-4.2. The plates are hand-numbered 328B and 9111 A. The decoration includes 22-carat gold gilding. A printed warning on the reverse states that the pieces are for ornamental use only and not for food use.
