A Cardew Design novelty teapot crafted from glazed earthenware in the form of a Victorian-style washstand. The body of the teapot is finished in a honey-brown glaze with darker shading to highlight the moulded details of the cupboard doors and supports. The top surface features integral miniature ceramic elements including a wash pitcher and basin decorated with blue floral transfer prints, a blue-striped folded towel, and a soap dish containing a bar of pink soap and a brush. The handle is modelled as a curved wooden support, while the spout extends from the lower section of the cabinet base. The hardware on the cupboard doors and the brush handle are picked out in a metallic gold-tone glaze. The base bears a circular gold backstamp reading Made in England and Cardew Design with a central stylised logo.
Backplate width: 10 cm.
