A pair of fired brass shell cases for a 105mm Field Gun, dated 1971. The bases of both cases feature deeply stamped military markings including 105MM FD, RW 297, L7A1, 1971, and the Broad Arrow property mark. The maker code RW indicates production at the Royal Ordnance Factory, Radway Green. One case base is hand-marked in black ink with the notations SUPER, 6A3, and L B, likely relating to the propellant charge type used. One shell case has been embellished with an applied brass Royal Artillery cap badge featuring a field gun surmounted by a Queen’s Crown (St Edward’s Crown) and motto scrolls reading UBIQUE and QUO FAS ET GLORIA DUCUNT. Both cases are inert with struck primers.
