A cast bronze figure of a seated Buddha, in the style of the Great Buddha (Daibutsu) of Kamakura. The figure is depicted in the dhyana mudra (meditation gesture) with legs crossed in the lotus position. It features traditional iconographic details including a head covered in tightly coiled curls topped with a prominent ushnisha, elongated earlobes, and a serene facial expression with downcast eyes. The figure is dressed in a simple monastic robe that drapes over both shoulders in a stylised manner. The metal exhibits a dark brown aged patina with visible areas of green verdigris oxidation, particularly within the recessed areas of the casting. The piece shows casting irregularities and surface wear consistent with handling and age.
