A Royal Worcester fine porcelain lidded trinket box of circular form, produced as a commemorative piece for women’s service in the Royal Air Force. The slightly domed lid is decorated with a central polychrome Royal Air Force crest, featuring an eagle surmounted by a crown and the motto PER ARDUA AD ASTRA. Below the crest is the inscription Women in the RAF in blue. The design is framed by a gold-printed laurel wreath and a ribbon motif. The side of the base is inscribed with the dates 1918 . 1939 . 1949 . 1994 . 1999 in red. Both the lid and base rims are finished with a gilt line. The item is accompanied by its original blue presentation box, which features a gold-blocked Royal Worcester logo and Royal Warrant on the lid.
