A collection of United Kingdom commemorative coins dating from the mid-20th to early 21st centuries. The group includes a 1953 Coronation crown (five shillings) depicting Queen Elizabeth II on horseback; a 1973 50 pence coin commemorating the entry into the European Economic Community (EEC) with the nine hands reverse design; a 1994 nickel-brass two pound coin marking the Tercentenary of the Bank of England; a 1996 nickel-brass two pound coin celebrating the European Football Championship; and a 2002 five pound crown for the Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II featuring a central rose design. The coins are primarily struck in cupro-nickel and nickel-brass. Several items are presented in protective plastic sleeves and one is housed in a folder with Westminster Collection branding. Obverse legends generally read ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D. These coins were issued as common commemorative pieces for general circulation or as part of collector sets.
