A Russian lacquer miniature box, hand-crafted from papier-mache and painted in the Fedoskino school tradition. The hinged lid features an oil-painted portrait of a young blonde girl with a red hair ribbon, wearing a pink ruffled dress and cradling a small brown bear cub. The scene is executed with characteristic luminosity and is framed by a decorative gold-painted scroll and foliate border. The body is finished in a dark brown lacquer, while the interior is coated in a bright red lacquer. A vertical signature in gold Cyrillic script is located on the right side of the lid, reading Федоскино (Fedoskino) and the artist name Коротков (Korotkov).
