A contemporary Russian Fedoskino lacquer box, traditionally crafted from papier-mâché with a hinged lid. The exterior is finished in black lacquer, while the interior features a characteristic vibrant red lacquer. The lid is decorated with a hand-painted oil miniature depicting a Russian ballerina in a white tutu with gold-painted accents, set against a dark grey-toned atmospheric background. The composition is framed by a delicate gold-painted scrolling foliate border. Gold Cyrillic inscriptions on the lid identify the origin as Федоскино (Fedoskino), provide the title Русская балерина (Russian Ballerina), and bear the signature of the artist Федоров (Fedorov).
