A set of seventeen white bone china dishes manufactured by Royal Doulton. Each dish is of square form with canted corners and finished with a simple gilt line to the rim. The outer side of the dishes features a gold transfer-printed crest depicting Britannia in profile wearing a helmet and holding a trident, positioned next to a shield bearing the Union Jack, with the entire motif enclosed within a laurel wreath. The base of the pieces bears a printed factory mark in grey featuring a lion standing atop a crown, above a circular device containing four interlinked loops with the text Royal Doulton England. Below the circle are the words Made In England, accompanied by a five-pointed star and the text Bone China. These pieces are typically associated with official British government commissions or exhibitions.
