A pair of side chairs constructed from solid oak in the Jacobean revival style, characteristic of mid-20th-century British furniture manufacture. Each chair features a paneled backrest with vertical planking set within a frame, topped by a subtly shaped rail with a central point. The chairs have solid wood plank seats and stand on turned front legs, with simple square section rear legs. The construction incorporates traditional joinery techniques, including visible pegged tenon joints on the backrest frames. The chairs are finished in a medium-to-dark oak tone. No maker’s marks or labels are visible.
