A brass fireplace fender dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The piece features decorative cast end supports with scrolling foliate motifs, characteristic of the late Victorian period. It is an adjustable, telescopic model designed to accommodate varying hearth widths; the upper rail consists of sliding brass tubing while the base is formed of a sectional moulded brass rail. No maker marks or signatures are present on the visible surfaces.
