A Russian lacquer box from the village of Fedoskino, featuring a hand-painted lid depicting two young girls in a romanticised style. The painting is executed in the manner of Konstantin Razumov. The box is constructed from papier-mache with a black lacquered exterior and a characteristic bright red lacquered interior. The scene on the lid is framed by a scrolling gold-painted foliate border. Gold Cyrillic inscriptions are visible on the lower right corner of the lid: ФЕДОСКИНО (Fedoskino), СЕСТРЫ (Sestry, translated as Sisters), and РАЗУМОВ (Razumov). The item features a metal hinge and a rectangular form with rounded corners.
