The illustration, created by Dr. Schwankl, presents an idealised composite architectural scene featuring prominent European Renaissance landmarks. The composition includes the Libreria Sansoviniana in Venice, the dome of St Peter’s Basilica in Rome, and various German half-timbered houses, all arranged around a central equestrian monument. A castle, resembling Heidelberg, is depicted on the wooded hillside in the background. The print is mounted between two black-painted wooden support rails for hanging. The bottom left margin is printed with the publisher’s details, while the bottom right margin displays the title and stock number Best.-Nr. 12 556. The artist’s name is visible within the plate in the lower right corner of the illustration.
