This group of domestic metalware consists of several items including a silver-plated meat dome and three brass vessels. The oval meat dome is constructed from electro-plated nickel silver and features a cast scrolled handle and a beaded rim. The interior is stamped with the maker’s mark for Thomas Wilkinson and Sons of Birmingham, featuring a crest of an armoured arm holding a dagger, alongside a vertical cartouche containing the letters EP over S.
The collection also includes a large circular brass basin or dairy bowl with a rolled rim and two brass saucepans. These saucepans are fitted with long wrought-metal handles, which are secured to the bodies with decorative copper rivets. The brass items show evidence of wrought sheet construction.
