A Victorian-era green glass storage vessel, identified as a carboy or demijohn, manufactured by the Aire & Calder Glass Bottle Co. of Castleford, Yorkshire. The piece is hand-blown from translucent mid-green glass and features a distinctive globular body. It has a short, wide neck terminating in an applied, thick collared rim. Embossed lettering reading AIRE & CALDER is visible around the interior surface of the flared rim. The glass exhibits characteristic period manufacturing details including numerous seeds and internal flow marks. The body shows visible internal streaks and historical residues from its previous utilitarian use.
