A vintage novelty money box or still bank cast in the form of a kneeling elephant holding a large bass drum with its trunk and forelegs. The figure features a coin slot positioned on the upper back and neck area. The item is constructed from cast metal with remnants of silver-coloured plating and black painted accents to the drum faces. The circular stepped base is embossed with the characters REG NO 786047, identifying a British Registered Design from late 1933. The underside features a removable metal closure plate secured by two flat-head screws to facilitate coin removal.
