This rectangular Fedoskino school lacquer box is constructed from papier-mâché and features a hinged lid. The exterior is hand-painted in a realistic style, with the lid depicting a gusli player, or Bayan, seated within a landscape that includes a traditional Russian ladya boat and horsemen in the background. The side panels are further embellished with forest scenes. The interior is finished in a bright red lacquer. The lid bears several inscriptions in red Cyrillic script: to the bottom left Федоскино (Fedoskino) and авт. Сидоров (avt. Sidorov); to the bottom right 1993г (1993 year) and the serial number 2325. The interior of the lid contains a gold factory stamp featuring a troika emblem and the name Fedoskino in both Latin and Cyrillic (Федоскино) scripts.
