A small porcelain water pot or brush washer of compressed globular form, likely originating from the provincial kilns of Southern China or Vietnam. The vessel is designed with a wide circular aperture located to one side. The top surface features a figure moulded in relief, potentially depicting a mythical beast or a three-legged toad, rendered in a stylised manner. The exterior is decorated with underglaze cobalt blue painting, featuring calligraphic depictions of figures and scrolling motifs. The glaze is of a greyish-white tone, showing characteristic folk-kiln features such as pitting and minor iron spots.
