A commemorative wooden shield trophy for the Alfa Romeo Shield Championship. The lot consists of a dark-stained, polished wooden shield-shaped base featuring various applied metal components. The centre of the shield is mounted with a circular metal frame with a decorative scalloped edge, containing an enamelled Alfa Romeo badge depicting the red cross on a white field and the green Biscione serpent on a light blue field, encircled by a navy blue border with gold-toned text reading ALFA ROMEO. Two curved metal banners are fixed to the shield; the left is embossed with THE ALFA ROMEO SHIELD CHAMPIONSHIP and the right with PRESENTED BY ALFA ROMEO (GB) LTD. Ten small shield-shaped metal plates are arranged around the perimeter, one of which is engraved DEREK BROWN 1984, while the remaining nine plates are blank. The inscription indicates the trophy was presented within the United Kingdom.
