A large framed offset lithographic print depicting a young woman in late Victorian or Edwardian attire. The subject is shown in profile wearing a wide-brimmed hat with a blue ribbon and a white dress with puffed sleeves, holding a large arrangement of white blossoms against a neutral background. The work is executed on a textured support mimicking canvas and is housed in an ornate composite gilt-metal effect frame with foliate scrolling corners and a dark-stained inner slip. A metal nameplate is fixed to the right side of the frame, though the text is illegible. The verso is sealed with board and bears a white printed label with a central crest and blue stamped text reading Paintings & Prints GALLERY II, and further printed text stating THIS BEAUTIFUL PICTURE IS FROM STEPHEN SELBY’S VICTORIAN COLLECTION, Ask your Retail Store for our Free Catalogue, LONDON. The wooden frame reverse is stamped with the figures 17×25 and 483-204.
